I don’t want to live, but I also don’t want to die. I want to be the person I used to be and I don’t know how to get her back and where she went. It’s my fault. I own it. I also realize that in order for me to get her back, I have to put in the work (and I’m not simply speaking in terms of body image). My mindset was different, my attitude was different, my everything was different. I want to find her, again. I want her back.
You know, a long, long time ago, let’s say grade school aged, I had very high self-esteem, not arrogance, just self-love and acceptance. You know what happened? I didn’t know I was supposed to feel bad about myself until someone told me I should – whether friends, family, media, magazines, etc. I was happy until someone else decided I shouldn’t be.
What did I do? I became who all these sources decided I needed to be. And guess what? I WAS happy. Isn’t that crazy? I’ve allowed my self-worth to be based on so many different sources that I truly lost what I liked. And I want HER back. Can one really undo this sh*t?
