I’m sincerely tired.
My parents work day and night shifts and they recently brought a foreign exchange student to help balance the mortgage, but they are forgetting about me:/.
My mom works day shifts from 7-4, and I get home at four and he gets home at 4:15. My mom is obviously tired and the student is from a rich family in Italy so he doesn’t know how to make himself anything. If I haven’t mentioned before, I’m a girl, and because he’s catholic he is very misogynistic and acts as if I’m no more than a maid. He seems to have blinded my parents into thinking he’s a “good” kid. For forever I have been on top of my grades and class. I haven’t ever been to detention and I get the best scores in my grade (9). Recently I’m finding it hard to complete school work because my mom calls me down to cook for him or wash his clothes every 30 minutes, which leaves almost no time for me to do anything. Sometimes I get upset and then my mom complains to my dad, and my dad says “just listen to your mom.” I also ask her why he can’t cook for himself and she says that “I don’t want him messing up the kitchen” or “that’s bad for his religion”. He also asks for difficult meals. I’m born and raised in the USA and I only know basic meals, but he created a list of traditional recipes to make for him because anything else is “bad for his diet and physique.”
He is only here until June, but I doubt i’ll survive.

-An overworked, tired, 14 year old girl.
