I am the only one out of my entire friend group that didn’t become a leader this year. I was told by my band directors that I just wasn’t mature enough to take on the role. All of my friends have left to fill their roles as leaders, and I am left in their shadows. I am truly, painfully, soul-crushingly alone, and there is nothing I can do about it. I have failed.
