I am a recovering anorexic, but this month has been a struggle for me emotionally and physically. Stress has led to decreased appetite and my sleep cycle is absolutely demolished.
I thought a guy I was interested in felt the same towards me, so I tried to befriend him and know him better. He has a girlfriend, but he doesn’t want to be with her and their relationship is slowly falling apart. He is just too nice to break it off. His girlfriend now is also like me but not pro-recovery. She abuses him and doesn’t treat him well.
He opened up to me about his problems, came by to check on me often, and would go out of his way for anything I mentioned. When he admitted that I was getting special treatment from him (more than his current girlfriend), I told him that he has a girlfriend now he should focus on. He also should take time to himself after being in a toxic relationship for so long, but after he did that he could decide if he wanted to pursue a relationship with me. He read it and didn’t respond. I’m worried he wants nothing to do with me anymore.
The texts he sent me were all so sweet and he would compliment me and praise me. He comforted me and would stay up late with me and come by my room to talk.
But I also feel guilty because he has a girl now. And it’s not me. I feel like I’ve hurt him by connecting with him and encouraging him in going after his own happiness.
The last message he sent me makes me think he didn’t really have any interest at all something about not taking his words the right way.
So maybe I just caught feelings over nothing.

  • Smoke weed. It will increase your appetite, and also help you sleep.
    Drink Boost, or a similar high calorie, high protein drink twice a day. It’s easier to drink calories, than to eat them. Continue eating as regular, or as best you can. Consider eating cake, cake muffin, or candy bar shortly before going to bed also.
