I heard her dying. I woke up at 3 in the morning because my boyfriend called. I had a horrible hangover, and we talked for less than 30 seconds. I heard the noises in her room and just assumed she had had too much to drink. I found out in the morning she had hung herself.

  • Maybe you could have stopped her that night, but eventually you wouldnt be around to save her anyways.

    That’s intense.
You definitely need to stop being self-absorbed for future reference.

  • That must be difficult for you to deal with. But others are right; you shouldn’t feel guilty. You had no reason to believe she was going to do something drastic like that. If you want to try and make up for it (even though you really shouldn’t feel guilt) then volunteer or something, and help other people. Or if you can’t volunteer, then make a donation to a homeless shelter or something like that in her name. Do something real, in her name and in apology to her, and then you’ll be able to move on.
