I’m soooo confused, it’s been two weeks i’m thinking about it..
I wanna leave my job, i got another offer, and i feel sooo bored in my present job.. but the problem is that it’s been 2 years since i started my work here, and when i started at the company we introduced a new project, a consulting project..
The project became bigger, and my responsibilities are harder now, and i know each single detail in the company, actually i built it..
The problem is that i cannot leave like this, my manager is a very good person, and he gives me everything i ask for, he is my best friend for now.. but really i am soooo bored, i wanna change this job, i wanna start a new thing.. but if i leave now, no one knows about the projects and the customes like me, even my manager doesn’t know that much.. and i can’t bring someone to train, i have to leave after 10 days, i don’t really know what to do, or how to tell my manager..
I need help please… thanks…

  • we go through stages where change is the quickest answer to all our problems.
but it doesnt work like that all the time.
try taking a vacation before you tell your manager your decision. dont even tell him you’re considering on accepting an offer.
tell him that you want more challenging projects and would be happy to provide training. dont forget to point out the importance of a second person knowing the ropes. what if something happens to you?
once you’re back from your leave, assess how things are, offer new ideas that can possibly give you a promotion.
BUT if youre certain on leaving your current boss, be honest and tell him your issues. im sure he will try to beat the offer so decline politely.

  • i agree with @1. if you ever decide to leave, always leave a company in good terms…

  • The above comment offers great advice.
On another note; it is very common to feel ‘job burnout’. Even rockstars get bored of performing sometimes.
Anyhow; if you really have your heart set on leaving then tell your manager, and offer assistance in replacing you.
But just so you know even in the next job after a couple of years you will probably feel the sameway, because it’s normal. And you may not even feel the same sense of achievement: “I practically built this co.” may not be there if it is already well established, powerful country.

  • thank you a lot everyone, I really appreciate your advices..
but the problem is that i’m really fed up with my actual work, i want to work with what i studied exactly, and the second job won’t be that better than this, but i will gain much more experience, and will be much more happier 🙂

today is the big day, i will tell him the truth after a couple of hours, so wish me a good luck, and i will update you with any news..
thank you again my friends, it was soo nice of you..
