I recently took a job at a start-up organization run by someone I knew, and I completely regret it. We both knew I didn’t have much experience but they really thought I could learn. Now I am completely overwhelmed and miserable, but the whole organization is relying on me to produce good results and I have zero ideas how. There’s no one there that has any experience with my work so I can’t ask for guidance. I really want to quit but they’re all wonderful people and I can’t bring myself to let them down. On top of it all, I’m not even getting paid for this yet. And when I do it won’t be more than minimum wage because they literally have no excess money.
