One year ago today I was having surgery for the first time in my life. Just an appendectomy but I was terrified. And it f****** hurt. It took six weeks to feel better. Honestly though, the appendicitis hurt much worse than the surgery or recovery. Even so, my husband forced me to go to the hospital. If left to my own devices I probably would have ruptured my appendix and died.
