Jewelry is satisfying. Everyone I’ve ever worked with is nuts and usually vindictive and manipulative but it’s nice to focus very hard on something tiny, then step back and it’s worth a whole lotta $$$, and even more satisfying to get faster at it. There are days I grind my teeth thinking of the customers buying these ridiculous things when I couldn’t afford one diamond off the f****** thing. But I’d rather do this than be a manager at an H&M even if they pay the same. A lot of manufacturers do pay the same, but if you can accumulate the equipment and tools to do some simple stuff at home, you start making enough money it’s all worth it fast. It’s hard not to get sucked into the materialism of it all. Hard not to feel better than I am. But also less than the people I work with covered in diamonds and 18ky and platinum
