A gray goose named Ingrid was running away from her abusive owner Zane. She waddled across meadows, swamps and lakes, occasionally flying even though she barely had strength to do it. When she came near a village in southern Sweden, a white domestic goose Morten saw her.
Morten gave Ingrid shelter. She was shaking in his wings as she told him her sad story. Her former owner no longer needed her, so he decided to make a meal out of her. Morten behaved protectively towards Ingrid, even though he already had a partner. Soon a dilemma arose: whether to remain a faithful husband or to be intimate with this tender, frightened but also goose hungry for affection.
Morten talked to Ingrid long into the night. He told her he was married and she didn’t seem to mind. In time, however, the flame of love would capture the hearts of both birds. The passion was so strong that it could be cut with a knife. Ingrid felt the roughness with her new lover, but this time also – love.
For some, it’s written in the stars.
