I’ve spent more than 20 years wanting to feel accepted and have friends who want me to be around them. I went through phases of trying very hard to make friends, before coming to terms with it and trying to learn to enjoy my own company. Even then, I sometimes fantasize about a life where I had lots of friends who would text and call me and ask me out. Who would say I’m a nice person and how much they like spending time with me. Today is a day like that.
