I offered my devoted love as a gift to her and warned her that if she declined I would make her suffer intensely and for a long time. Perhaps I would pour fuel on her and set her ablaze. So what do you think of my approach?

If you truly loved her… setting her ablaze would not be in the equation. Hurting or wanting to hurt someone who doesn’t love us back is not LOVE.

I’d say that was way too aggressive. Tone it down a bit, remove the warning of setting her ablaze. Just offer her your love and if she declines move on with your life.
