Google the name of your town and “Food banks.” Every town or county has a “pantry,” usually a church, for which wealthy or more well-off residents purchase staples like milk, eggs, meat, fruit, vegetables plus a ton of sugary crap, and deliver it to the Food Bank those who would otherwise go hungry can visit and take what they need. There is no shame in going to a food bank; that’s what it’s there for. Once you start going and the problem of getting food is solved, you can move onto other things like seeking better-paying employment or whatever predicament you find yourself in that’s resulted in you not having enough food.
If you can’t do that, do what I did in 2013 when I was really down and out – put up an ad on CraigsList and ask a stranger to buy you what you need, and agree to leave the food at a designated spot. Then go pick it up. It’ll be in a box or similar. Just don’t ask for steak or organic vegetables because people will yell at you online.
I go to food banks 2x a month there great ,Good meat, few cans of veggies, some cereal.
No shame, free food!!!! Eat everyday!!
There are 7 in my area. Find one and They Will help you find all the others.they are very kind people! One time I even got 20$ in sushi!!! It was delicious ,fresh too.
I think about this all the time. Can you imagine being hungry and just going to get food? Needing socks or undies and just going and buying them? Spending 3 bucks and it not breaking you completely for the week? It’s literally a dream. I can’t even imagine. We will have it one day.
Or a couple of hundred dollars smartphone and the accompanying Internet package that would allow you to:
Look for a job
Google things
Apply online for assistance
And so much more!
