I folded an origami crane for you because I care about you. Not because I’m teasing you. Or playing hard to get. When I fold a crane, it’s a metaphor for who I am. When I was in middle school it was the only way I could say thank you, because I was so shy. So I folded cranes. When I graduated from middle school, teacher’s desks and friend’s backpacks were full of cranes. And now I’ve grown out of it, because I can talk about my feelings. So when I fold a crane, and give it to you, I’m giving you a tiny piece of myself. It’s who I am, deep inside, I’m still too shy to say “, I like you, will you go out with me?” And you like the crane, so I will keep folding, until you understand I care about you. Because when you see the cranes I give you, you smile and blush. And even if you never know why I fold you them, I will still feel well, deep inside, to watch you smile with each one of them.
