I come from a good area, a massive but generally a good honest respectable working class area and I didn’t meet my first shifty thief until I was 23. I knew and detested car thieves but I’d never met anyone who would use misdirection.
I’m out in the sticks fishing on a river and as a bait knife I’m using a mini rambo type knife, totally legal and not worth stealing. 2 kids came over asked about ‘the fishing’ but I knew something was up. I had a load of beer but they weren’t interested in it, there was something else they wanted.
I was doing like a penguin and standing over the beer I’m trying to keep eyes on both lads, ones in front other behind me. ‘anyway good luck with the fishing’ and they left, my spidey senses are tingling. Smelly gypo bastards stole my knife.
Out in the sticks kids wise enough to use misdirection means they’ve stolen before and it’s the last place you’d expect thieves, out by the river fishing unless it’s yogi and boo boo. The knife was worthless but they really wanted it, why?
