I’m an 18 year old gay male, and my parents are strict but accepting. Yesterday, I went out on a date, which I haven’t done in a long time, and let them know when I got there and left. The guy lived an hour train ride away. I thought I was going to stay out till about 9, but it ended up being till about 11:30. I had forgotten to charge my phone, and I was able to tell my mom that I was coming home and that I had 1% before my phone died. There were a lot of train delays, and I ended up catching the last train home to my city, and got home at 2am.
I’ve found out that because I “worried my parents”, that they’ve cut off my internet access, which I feel is unfair, considering that I’m 18 and should be able to go out late without punishment. I have NEVER stayed out late before, I’m always home before 9. This was out of the ordinary for me, so I feel that they should understand that.
