I’m s******* a female, but I identify as male.
I do, in my mind, believe I was meant to be a man and it frustrates me to an extreme when people use female pronouns.
I feel like s*** when I walk into the women’s bathroom because I know that in my mind, I’m a man. My parents have always wanted me to be a stereotypical girly-girl like my sisters. Dressed in pink, shopping in some big brand name store that sells shirts for $50, wearing make-up and all that was never really me and I get yelled at a lot when I act/dress like a tom-boy.
My appearance is female but mentally, male.
I haven’t told anyone besides my friends and some classmates. I’ve corrected people many times and I haven’t told my family (besides my cousin) and I don’t exactly know what his opinion on it is.
My family has always referred to me as a girl. Never even thinking that I’d classify as male. A bit naive, aren’t they? Every time I go somewhere with them, there always has to be a (mental) conflict with myself and the person saying I’m female. I recently went on a boating trip and I did have a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong, but there was a person that made me feel like absolute s***. He pointed out that the raft was filled with women. My friends didn’t notice, but I did. I didn’t correct him. I really did want to.

I do feel a little guilty. I have dragged my friends into this as well.
I feel hostile and impolite when I correct them. They’ve had teachers yell at them for referring to me as a male.
“Oh, Ken just left. He’s in the library–”
“She.”
“Pardon?”
“You just referred to Ken as if she were male. She’s a woman.”
I just feel so frustrated. I haven’t told a single adult about it and I don’t plan to.
When I told my father about my depression and how I contemplated suicide, he got angry that I would even think that and if I was just went outside and thought about something else that it’d make everything okay.

If I’m on Facebook, people that look at my pictures and think that I’m attractive, they’ll send me messages telling me that I’m “cute” and that they want to talk more, but I know that all they want is stupid s*** that I don’t f****** have time for.
I’ll, of course, tell them, that I’m male just to let them know, but they all can figure out that I’m s******* a female but prefer to use male pronouns if not gender neutral pronouns. They’ll cling onto it like it’s the only thing they have left and it’s RIDICULOUS that they refuse to call me by male pronouns because they’re going to beg for nudes from another guy (implying I’d send anything anyways.
I absolutely hate, more than anything, the people that refuse to call me by male pronouns just BECAUSE I was born as a female. I do feel at least a little bit offended when people talk to me like that I do respect your decisions and all and I’d hate to sound selfish about it but if you can’t do a small favor like referring to me as a male, then I don’t really know why I’m talking to you. Hell, I’ve had people complain about when I cut most of my hair off. I got comments like “You look like a boy.” or “You shouldn’t have cut your hair.” That’s the f****** point! I WANT to look like a boy and what? You don’t like it? It’s my hair in the first place and it most certainly shouldn’t be a bother to you anyways! Those people are usually the ones that don’t want to even be near me because I look like a really feminine boy. Fine, they’re not even my friends anyways. Who needs judgemental bastards like them?

As far as my s******** goes, I was a bisexual female, but now I’m just a bi male, but I’m starting to lean on the gay side. I’ve had men that are interested in being in a relationship, wheter it’s because of my looks or because it’s my personality, they’re afraid of what they’ll be labelled as. I’m s******* a female, so they’re straight. I’m mentally a male, so they’re gay. That’s also another reason why people won’t refer to me as a male. Because they’re attracted to me for my physical attributes.
