I hate how I have to be extra nice to my niece because she is suicidal. It keeps me from pointing out that all of the problems she complains about are because of her own actions, yet she blames them on everyone else. I’m in my 30s. She is in her early 20s. My parents raised her because my sister was a drug addict. Now my sister is dead. Every time my niece talks to me, she puts down my parents. And I can’t defend them for fear that she’ll do “something stupid” if she gets angry.
She dropped out of high school, and can’t even keep the few jobs she’s qualified for now. She always finds reasons to fail – the bosses are mean, the coworkers pick on her, she gets harassed, etc. HELLO… If EVERYONE ELSE in the world is somehow “wrong” in your mind, maybe the problem is actually with you.
Your bosses aren’t mean. They’ve telling you what to do because THEY ARE THE BOSS. That’s how it’s supposed to work, dumbass.
You were married for less than a year. He left you. You know why? You pushed him away, that’s why. You can’t even get that right.
But I can’t tell you these things. I just have to smile and agree with you, and pray I don’t get a call one day that you killed yourself. I do hope you grow out of this.
