I freelanced for a company about 7 months ago. Upon taking the freelance, all I kept hearing was once everything was done they were going to offer me a full time job. This, however, did not happen. I kept looking for a job while keeping the lines of communication open with said company. About a month ago I got a job offer to do exactly what I love doing.
I THEN get an snide email from the previous company saying Gee thanks for going to work for our competitors. Are you serious?!
I can not wait around while you decide whether or not to hire me full time. I have to take care of myself and be able to afford to live. It has been over 7 months and still nothing from these guys and now they are pissed because I work for another company. To which point, I found out 4 months ago they got the bid that I worked my a** to get for them and wasn’t even told. They completely wrote me out of it and the client hated the end product. They COULD have hired me 4 months ago for this project but they didn’t.
Who in their right mind gets pissed at a person for taking care of themselves, while purposefully removing them from a project that would have stopped the issue in the first place?
AND NOW, I’m getting sniped at by my new boss for showing him the competitor. Always taught know your enemy. How is showing their work against our work a problem? Shouldn’t you take the opportunity to make things better and spring board your work forward?
I f****** hate people sometimes.
