I was at an end-of-the-year service for teachers from multiple schools, and they had us write down anonymously what we thought were the biggest challenges facing teachers today. There were about 50 teachers there, and I was in charge of compiling the list of challenges to present to everyone.

More than half of the things the teachers wrote were different variations of “teaching black children is my biggest challenge”.

It’s one of those things that most teachers think, but we aren’t allowed to say. I’ve had this experience too. My classes are about 50% White, 35% Hispanic, and 15% Black. With exactly one exception this year, those 15% of students took the majority of my teaching time, both with trying to get them up to grade level, and dealing with discipline issues.

The education of the other students suffered as a result. If the parents could see what teachers see, they would quietly but quickly get their students into the school with the least amount of black students.

Let other people sacrifice their children on the altar of “political correctness”.
