Yeah If I was looking for an Analog Delay (again not likely, I am satisfied with the VD400), it would be a toss up between the BOSS Wazacraft DM2W and MXR Carbon Copy. I’m not sure about the Wazacraft but I know the Carbon Copy includes tap delay, which means you can set the speed of the delay exactly by tapping the foot switch twice to the speed of the somg. That’s huge actually. That’s one thing the VD400 doesn’t do. I’d go for digital but I’m in no hurry for a new Delay pedal ATM.

WAZACRAFT is a series of BOSS pedals, most of which are long discontinued models like the DM2, they reissue, but all with something extra or a few things extra. Another mode. Maybe there’s tap delay included in the DM2W. I know there another mode activated with a switch, I’m not sure what it does, but you can also set these pedals to be exactly like the originals too.

I never really thought about it but “Bucket Brigade” circuit is in all analogue modulation pedals. It’s also in my EHX Eddy Vibrato/Chorus, In my MXR Phase 90, the Fender Flanger… Chorus is basically taking your signal, duplicating it (I don’t know how many times) and playing it a fraction of a second in front of or behind the original signal or both, tuned slightly off, to create a wall of sound effect. I love Chorus actually. It’s a really nice sounding modulation effect. It’s lush. Sounds really cool. Phase is the same idea and so is Flanger. I don’t think they are really all that different on paper even though the resulting tone is very different.
