I feel I don’t have any culture. I’m ethnically white but I’m mixed with many different nationalities. I was born in Denmark but I’m ethnically and legally not Danish. I moved to Switzerland for a year when i was 5, I’m ethnically and legally Swiss, but I don’t speak the language well and I’m looked upon as a foreigner. I moved to Canada when I was 6. I’m not legally Canadian, because my mother gave up her Canadian citizenship before I was born, intending to become a Danish citizen, without success. My family has some roots in Canada, and I’m legally considered Métis (though I’m not, I only have a low amt of Indigenous blood). I moved back to Denmark when i was 13, and stayed briefly for 4 months in Switzerland before returning to Denmark. I’m now 15, and feeling I lack a culture. I’ve never felt at home anywhere, I never spoke naturally in any language, I never felt Danish, Canadian, Swiss Icelandic (I’m ethnically and legally Icelandic) or any other of the many nationalities in my blood.

The only family member I’m in regular contact with is my mother. I’m not wanted in my family, and I’m disconnected from all of my family members.
