I looked at an obituary today for the first time of an old guy I knew at one time many years ago. He passed away earlier this year. I guess you could say I worked for him. I liked him. He showed me respect at the time. I liked the guy. He like my work ethic. He lived a really long old life and from what I saw he wasn’t a decrepid old man at the end.
The people named in his obituary, family, people I knew, and their loved ones were an eye opener for me. It didn’t give me any emotional feelings, at one time they might have but my emotional feelings have been replaced with indifference at this point in time. Grand daughters, their husbands, and what hit me was grand children. There’s only 3 possible people who could be parents to these 6 or so grandkids. Maybe 7, I didn’t count. None of which I knew of, one of them tragic, which I’ll admit hit me in a negative way. Like I felt bad. It’s unfortunate.
But it was an eye opener. It told me that people are together, still, and probably will be for life. Not that it’s of any concern to me I just thought it interesting.
