S.G. – My Little Crow in Findlay. My sweet raven. My goddess of the autumn. My love with the cute, darling figure. Beloved witch. Amazing teacher. Patient stepmother. You baked me Welsh cakes and showed me affection richer and deeper than I’ve ever known.
Every day since I dropped off the face of the Earth has been painful. Every day has felt, at least in part, like a lie.
I miss you so much. I am in a hell of my own making, and it is no worse a fate than I deserve for breaking your heart. I miss your magic. I miss the way you loved my bed head every morning. Hearing your voice first thing gave me life, and now I feel like a husk – animated but lifeless.
I hope these words find you somehow. I hope R realizes the beauty he holds in his hands, and never hurts you the way I have. I hope that you can forgive me, some day.
Your smile stays in my memory, every minute of every day. The wheel never stops turning, my love, and it has brought me back to the miserable existence whence I started.
I miss you. I will carry love for you in my soul as long as I exist. I cannot change that, and I do not want to. The chains of my sins against our love tether me to the memory of what we could have had, if I hadn’t been an impulsive fool.
If I try hard enough, sometimes I can still hear your sister blackbirds sing to me. Their song is different, now, though. A bittersweet reminder of what I lost; of what we almost had. We almost had everything.
I love you still. I’ll love you forever.
Your sloth in Athens
