I live in the Bible Belt, I’m gay and almost everyone I know if Christian. I know my family will accept me because my aunt is happily married to her wife. The real problem is I don’t believe in god. Do you know how hard it is struggle all your life only to have people tell you “Everything happen for a reason, god made you for a reason”? It’s so f****** hard. I have such trauma and my mother just tells me “God always has a reason.”. To any religious person out there, if you tell someone suffering that instead of helping I hope you f****** burn.
