This is very specific, but to everyone who derides “western ideas of plant taxonomy”, you should remember that those taxonomists have dedicated their lives to understanding part of the natural world. They love those plants with a true love. You may think it is less pure than an indigenous approach, less cultural, but it has its own history and is just as much an expression of love. Check yourself, are you moved by a love for the non-human world when you critique taxonomists, or are they just a convenient target for your thoughts about people?
