You know you are not going to ever get over someone by constantly talking about them to new people in your life or trying to get close to them in some way even if it’s for negative purposes, right?

You should do the healthy thing for yourself and the other person and from now on, just keep it to yourself and when you see an opportunity to insert yourself in there in some way… just walk away.

I can yell you from experience that if you do that long enough, it’s not a 2 week process, it takes strength, eventually, you won’t care about that person or even be curious. You will be forgetting important dates that you normally remeber like second nature, birthday, anniversary, whatever. You might hear them brought up by someone and it won’t even matter to you. Like it never happened. You might be relieved or a bit taken by how little you feel, how little you are effected by the fact that they are taken, and maybe with more. Kids. You will think “wow, we have nothing in common, I can’t see myself with that person at this point in time. Life…” Not that it wasn’t possible at some time in the distant past, just not now, at this point.

It’s the heathy choice. Mentally. For both of you. You WILL get over it. If it was a mental s*** kicking beyond anything you ever imagined and you get past it you will be 10x stronger for it.
