I am a lesiban. Plain and simple. It is not that easy though. I grew up in a christian community, attending a Christian school from k-12. For 13 years I have sat through countless bible classes, teachers telling me homosexuality is a sin. I have never understood how Christians can be so ambiant on obeying one part of the bible but competely ignore the other. How can God “love everyone” and everyone was created in his creation if the way he created them is sinful. A sin is something you choose to do, you cannot choose to be straight, just as you cannot choose to be gay. Christians will never understand that. I have sat through numerous lectures that ended if “If you are experiencing homosexual feelings, we will pray for you and that God will heal your soul.” B****. It’s your soul that needs healing. The ONLY thing that 13 years of a Christian education has taught me is that Christians are stuck up. They think that they are so far beyond perfect, that their beliefs are the only ones that are true. Beliefs are called beliefs for a reason, and no one in the history or future of earth will ever know which beliefs are true. Christians do not have a belief to go around with an attitude as if they know what is best for all of man kind. Every day after school I would lay in my bed and cry, because the one place that was supposed to make me feel safe and secure, made me want to kill myself. Just because I couldn’t be open about who I am. To make it even worst is that one of my best friends does not think that homosexuals should be treated with ANY respect, AT ALL. How ignorant do you have to be to think that?! Going to a Christian school has made me HATE religion.
