I’m so exhausted. I’m usually the one who is the “therapist” friend in groups and its hurting me. I don’t want to be selfish or bad, but hearing their trauma or troubles hurts me in the process. It’s not because I don’t want to hear them (I’m all ears for them) but it makes me feel like I can’t express how I feel in return. And when I do, their first response is usually “Oh I have it worse” and “It’s not as bad as me”. It makes me feel like I shouldn’t express or say how I feel, and I’m always the one giving them my advice when I actually needed my own advice from the start. I’ve had so much trauma and emotion over the past 2 years, I just feel trapped and exhausted. I feel exhausted experiencing people’s trauma through their words, but I don’t want to say anything. I like when people feel comfortable enough to express themselves, but it makes it hard when they compare their problems to mine and make me feel lesser.
