I look at my cousins on my father’s side. They’re all successful. They all got great college degrees, are married, have wonderful jobs and nice houses, and to top it off they are all good looking and popular. They drive nice cars and have nice things. They don’t have to worry about paying the bills from week to week or if they’ll have a place to live in a month. They can afford to take a family vacation to Ireland.
Then there’s me… married (and I love my husband dearly) but forced to live with my parent because of financial problems. Never finished college. Legally blind but haven’t been able to get disability. Overweight and unattractive. Poor as dirt. Did I just not try hard enough? Or are we just forced to live in what we’re born in? I love my parent I really do and I’ve never wanted to be rich. But sometimes I just wish I was wealthy enough to be able to get by without having to constantly stress and worry about money. People who can afford to have coffee from Starbucks every day, or people who can afford a family trip to Disneyland or to go shopping for new clothes just don’t understand where I’m coming from.
