Dear females, why do some of you want an hourglass figure? I have one and to be honest it can be a pain when it comes to clothing and sizes. Skirts either fit around the waist but rise to high because of your thighs or it will come down at a nice length and be too wide around the waist and fall, tops can be too tight around the chest but fit well on your stomach and waist or be perfect around the cleavage yet too baggy around the trunk.

I just feel like the only time I think I’ll look confident is when I buy fitted clothes which can cost a bit more especially for summer and winter clothes. When I don’t wear fitted you feel insecure because the clothes can make you seem a few sizes bigger and make you slightly uncomfortable.

I’m a size 12/14 UK (Dependant on shop & clothing type) with a 40-30-41 inch figure so school uniform was an honest struggle when sizing and I remember just dying to wear my own clothes because I felt more at ease and less judged by peers.

But to be honest I think no matter your figure you should own it and love yourself – curvy or not because if someone doesn’t like your figure well that’s their opinion, everyone isn’t going to like you & that goes for every individual on this earth. So I’ve learned to accept myself and slowly become confident.

So back to the question- why do some women want an hourglass figure? Is it because of symmetry? Appeal? Social Media? I’m just really curious x
