How do I convey to family that I enjoy being single? Like I’m the only single person that’s of age in my entire extended family. And I’ve only ever had one serious GF. I’m almost 28. Like, my one and only relationship taught me that I’m not ready for that. And the longer I’ve been single the more I’ve come to understand that I might not be relationship material. Don’t get me wrong, I feel lonely from time to time. But then I w*** one out and I’m like ah yes, I was just h****. I want to say, I feel as if this stems from basically being a slave as a child. The moment I gained my freedom it was life altering. I could not imagine having to go back to listening to someone other than myself. Which that’s how any great relationship lasts. Compromise. Which is something I’m currently unwilling to do. So any potential relationship is doomed. Because ultimately I’m going to do what it is that I want to do. Regardless of how anyone else feels. But my family is a bunch of narrow minded religion freaks that don’t understand this. I know I’ve made a muck of this and it’s partially incoherent and rambly, but it pains me that my family doesn’t get that I don’t want to live life the way they do. At least not in this current period in time. Who knows how I’ll feel a few years from now. But as of now I just wanna love life the way I SEE fit.
