End-of-day offload:

1. Just another regular day, WORKING, and having a BLAST. The other girl I was on with today, and the owner (I’m not sure that even is the owner because I was told someone else was…) just so desperate to close. I get it, it is Xmas, everyone has plans. But there are hardly any shops open, it’s GOOD to be open for BAU, if if you’ve got staff willing to work late and someone might just wanna chill and have a coffee, DO IT. Beneficial for all.

2. On that note, Christmas Eve – the masses have plans. Because it is Xmas eve, I do not. As I said – it is just another regular day for me. But I hope everyone has a great few days. I’ll be spending mine – organising, planning, goal setting, tying loose ends. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with Xmas, it’s great. But I had to pick the best holidays from the Gregorian calendar it would be Halloween and New Years.

3. You know when you’re so busy doing things (like taking someone’s payment, or making the best drink) and listening to other people as well because it’s good be a social butterfly but sometimes you just can’t and you don’t want to be rude and tell people to SHUT UP – that’s happened a lot. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great having a natter, it’s brill. But I’d rather you had a great coffee, and I got your order right than messing it up. If you wanna have a chinwag, hmu when I don’t look busy (which I generally am). Also, about what people say some things only register until after you get a moment of solitude, stillness and silence. Yeah that’s what happened right now. Some things imparted by others just don’t add up and there is no clarity around it. Not going into that but anyway that’s just daily frontal lobe processing.

4. I have paperwork to do for this new opportunity. STILL. But I’m going enjoy the rest of the two days off, because everyone’s cooped up so the public arena is pretty much bare for exploration (high five/fist pump)

5. It’s been great working with the chick over the past two days, real swell. Americans are generally half full people and I ADORE that. I try and get people’s perspective but like, if you’re tired (I’m not), wanna go home (I don’t), wanna close early (I don’t, I’m having a ball werq werq werqing) then why are you working? Why can’t another staff member accommodate instead?

6. Conversations regarding: relationships, significant others, marriage, children, school runs (specifically w/ customers) I have two words: can’t relate. And extend further: Don’t want to relate. It’s inevitably a matter of personal preference and choice, and it is absolutely fantastic talking to different people from all walks of life. It’s interesting. You learn loads of new stuff – like I spoke to an Oxford physicist, an architect, someone showed how they do concrete slabbing stuff on their insta. Awesome sauce. But don’t expect me to “relate” to it in a way where I am not in a position to. I can’t because I lead a really different trail. Got it? SWEET.

7. Serving girl gangs on their lunch dates – my favourite cohort.

8. Anything else I wanna offload, noticed etc.? The fridge temperature wasn’t done, there is NO organisation it’s driving me mad, AND to top it all off, I still haven’t had the chance to discuss hours, pay, role. I mean wtf is going on?
