I got diagnosed with leukemia last year and I’ve had just the worst depression since being in remission. I am grateful to be alive but everything seems so much harder now. I’m 21 and I feel like everyone is tip toeing around me and treating me like a sick child even though I am better! Well, last week I found out I have diabetes now from the medications/steroids that I have been on to prevent me from actually getting sick again. During this time, 3 of my closest friends (about 10 years) decide to tell me that I haven’t been a good friend to them for the past year and they basically mean girls me. They say they are annoyed with how much I talk to them about my struggles and I am tense to be around. This came out of the blue and really shocked me. They started to distance themselves to see if I would reach out to them to make sure they knew I still cared about the friendships. I reached out several times and each time was worst than the last. I met up with one friend and she basically ripped me a new one for absolutely no reason. I am someone to admit when I am wrong and to apologize for my wrongdoing but this is ridiculous and I know what they are saying is just false, undermining gossip. This is the saddest I have ever been in my life and I don’t know how to handle my emotions. On one hand I want to tell them all to fucckkkkk off but we all have so many great memories together. I am going to text them all individually on Friday that I do not wish to continue the friendships.
