I married a man I met working as a waitress at PF Chang’s. He was on assignment in Boston and he ate there almost every night when he was there and he asked for me when I was working and I ended up going out with him and the next thing I know I eloped with him and moved to Atlanta where he lives. That I am from Boston and I don’t fit in here in Atlanta, that he is 47 and I am 23, that he is a Baptist and I am Catholic, that he says that wait a minute and I say I got married and I want children, that he sits me down and tells me how things ‘really’ are and I need to stop thinking like some dumb liberal and get myself straightened out, that his idea of s** is feel me up and get on and get off like if I am a bus, that he wants me to cook every night, that he likes me to iron his pants and his shirts, that he wants me to go to college now that I don’t have to work, that I fell in love with a man that I hardly now and he loves me, a girl from the wrong side of town.
I am going to go to college, I got good grades in high school. I just have to grow up, he doesn’t do bars it is more of having dinner with his family on Saturday night. I just wish that I didn’t have my Boston accent it makes me feel like I am low class.
