I had a great xmas with my parents. I am at home instead of going to the family dinner. I have a branch of my family I no longer speak to and wish not to interact with anymore due to a multitude of reasons. After years of putting up with being put down and in general being treated poorly by them I said I am done. Said it around 2 years back. With them being at the family dinner I do not feel like being there or having the entire family tell me how i need to forgive them. After saying all of this I will say I find it somewhat interesting that they all of a sudden care when i no longer want to speak with them or have them in my life. Guess they will have to find someone else to use as a subject of family gossip or to put down.
