When his mom was home for the first time in years he decided to make us both a cuppa. He could not, for the life of him, find the kettle. His mom had cleaned the kitchen for him, since his girlfriend was deployed, his wife abandoned him 5 yrs ago, his baby momma was back in Montana, and I just could not be arsed to clean a kitchen that was not my own. His mom and I had spotted the kettle already, she had gone through great lengths to put it up high so he could see it. He’s going crazy, opening and closing cabinet doors, looking down low, until I climb up on the counter and fetch it from atop the fridge. He exclaims “Im stuck in a house full of tiny people! How was I supposed to know- ugh!” And takes the kettle making the hilarious wild a** faces he makes. For reference, he is 6’4, his mom is 5’5, and I’m 5’1, his son is 4’11, and my son is 3’. To this day, even though he’s been gone for MONTHS, I still curse his name when I can’t reach something. He put the dishes out of reach one time by mistake and apologized profusely. Now I guess its a running gag. Its probably not his fault that something is out of reach, but I’ll blame him anyway. He’s not around to fetch them for me.
