Having watched a news item about the brutal regime of President Daniel Ortega, i made a model of him out of a coke can and an empty yoghurt pot for his head. I added a label with his name on it, then took it out to the garage and smashed it to smithereens with a hammer, cursing him and wishing him dead. i then disposed of the remnants of the components of this ‘model’ representing him in our wheeliebin for recycling (label shoved iinto the lower part of the split/fractured coke can.

Jesus said if we commit sin in our mind then, to God, it’s AS IF we’d done it for real (he was referring to ‘Lust’ but i believe the PRINCIPLE stands.) Therefore to God i’ve just acted out murdering very violently this evil dictator and my punishment should definitely be an eternity spent in hell with no hope of remission.

Thanks be to God for the shed Blood of my Saviour Jesus Christ through whom we can be redeemed of ANY sin – no matter how serious (except the “unforgiveable sin” of blaspheming Holy Spirit apparently.) Thanks be to God that His Holy Word declares that “If we confess our sins, one to another, then God is gracious and just to forgive us our sins” – even murder-in-the-mind. Moses was a murderer for example but in reality (he killed a fello Egyptian.) Thanks to whoever reads this and God bless and preserve you until the time you depart planet earth and we then will meet in Paradise. Even the “thief on the Cross” got there, by the skin of his teeth maybe, but he did it, so there’s hope for us all.
