I have this friend who is nice but not nice. Helpful but not helpful. And is honest to your face but also honest behind your back. They also lie a lot.

Confused yet? So am I. But yeah there was a situation that I need a little clarification for, because they are a tricky person and I am someone who reads too much into things but I almost always turn out to be right.

So last night I was cooking and I needed sugar. I sent someone upstairs (that’s where she lives) to ask for some, I just needed a spoon or two and they were going to give it back. And they come down with a box of sugar that she told them she just took out of the fridge. Now let me tell you the story revolving around that box of sugar.

Where we live there are roaches, ants, rats and mice (forgive me the mention of these horrible pests) and I had happened to be in her house the day before all the way up until around 12 at night. And let me tell you what I saw sitting on her table, out in the open, uncovered. The box of sugar.

That box of sugar was sitting there the whole day from when I first went up there early in the morning to help her with something until I left her house at 12. The only reason I noticed it was because I thought it was odd that she would leave it there knowing that there were roaches and ants that would gladly crawl into it.

I found it funny that she then tried to give me that same box of sugar. Oh and let me clarify one more fact she has a container that she pours all of the sugar into to make sure no critters got into it. That was the only reason why I asked her because I knew she had that and that it had plenty of sugar in it. Also, I need to clarify one more thing.

The sugar in that container was sugar that I had brought upstair and forgot. And instead of her just letting me know that I had forgotten it, she emptied it into the container. When I went back up to get it the next day, she told me what she had done and that if we ever needed the sugar she would give it to us. I was fine with that because I barely use sugar, but as you can see that was clearly not the case.

But yeah now my question is what would you have done in this situation? And do you believe that she did it out of spite or that she really didn’t know that the box of sugar she tried to give me was sitting out?
