I’m a young girl, sixteen years of age. My parents are both deaf and physically disabled, and don’t get me wrong, I love them to death, but sometimes they bug me. I don’t mean in the way most girls are bugged about their parents, I don’t care about getting the newest iPhone or whatever. Sometimes, my mom touches me in places I don’t like. It’ll be my b*** or my legs. Sometimes she’ll stick her hand up my shirt to show my how cold her hands are. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I ask her to stop when it happens, and she doesn’t understand why. She gets confused and when I tell her that it makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t like it, she gets really dramatic about it. She feigns hurt and says she was only joking around with me. I always feel so bad about it, even if it’s an act. The worst part is that I KNOW I have a right to tell her to stop and not feel bad because I know I’m not doing the harm. I feel uncomfortable, and she, as my parent, is supposed to stop, but I feel bad and let her do it anyways and it upsets me to no end that I can’t stop this.
