So I don’t do a lot with my free time. Most of my friends I grew up with are busy, so when I’m not at work or hanging out with my fiance, my time is mostly spent online. Lately, I’ve started to get into Dungeon World – which is a D&D tabletop game. The idea of creating a whole world and interacting with characters, having only a simple rule guide and the imagination of other players gets me excited – something I haven’t felt in years. I don’t have the $$$ for a new gen console or to invest in PC gaming, so this is a possible solution to get creative juices flowing again and to have some fun – even meet new people with it!
Just unfortunate that when I try to explain it to friends/family, their responses are mostly patronizing at best and often look for a way to change topic. It’s like, I’ve always encouraged others to talk about things they’re excited about. I don’t give two tablespoons of rat s*** about Overwatch or whatever… but I let them talk about it because they’re so excited about it. When I finally find something that I think is really fun, I hardly get to talk about it for two minutes before people start staring at their phone or dismiss everything I say. S*** s****…
