My girlfriend rarely helps clean. I ask her to do one or two things, she says she’ll do it, but MONTHS could go by and it’s still not done.

I work late, averaging 40 hours a week. She works maybe 15 hours a week split into two days.

It’s been like this for years since college. There’s mold in the dishes. Glasses are black from sink grime. Her clothes are literally EVERYWHERE.

I’ll ask her to clean and when it’s not done, I’ll ask the next day. It’ll continue until she acts like I’m somehow getting on her back and gets defensive. So I’ll end up getting frustrated, staying up until God knows when in the morning, cleaning everything.

For f*** sakes if she’d keep it up every day it’s take no longer than 20 minutes, but she lets it f****** build until a single dish requires half an hour to clean. And half a bottle of soap.

Am I f****** crazy? Should I be expected to pay the bills, buy the food, buy entertainment, smokes, AND clean her mess from being here doing nothing all day? I mean id help, but I don’t have time for this huge of a mess. I don’t want her to be some housewife slave, I just want her to put some effort into this relationship. Get off your f****** phone for a bit! Put it down and away for half an hour and you’d be amazed what you could get done!
