Gaming critics, reviewers, and gamers love to ride on innovations d***. They love innovation. They kiss innovations a**. Good games sometimes actually lose points in reviews for being too samey when its that golden and comforting formula that keeps fans coming back. I buy games from a franchise when I want more of the same. When the critics sarcastically pose the question “do we want to play more of the same?” my answer is absolutely. If I didn’t I would stop buying games from the franchise. Final Fantasy changed in a way I did not like and the result was me skipping XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. Meanwhile I buy every Tales of game they come out with because they give me exactly what I want. Innovation in gaming is not always a good thing. Sometimes it can be like a bad lover. At first you have a happy relationship and things are okay but then one day without warning you find yourself on your knees blindfolded and handcuffed with a corncob up your a** and a sock in your mouth and you are in tears wondering why? Why did this happen? What have you done?! I cant trust you now. I dont know what to expect. You hit me with this s0 suddenly! Couldn’t things stay the same and instead you make small adjustments and additions instead of springing this big load on me without warning or preparation?! I wasn’t ready. I feel raped even.
