my dad is a chronic hoarder and has a massive junk pile in his man cave under the house. he is very protective of his junk, newspapers and rubbish he will not through out. anyone from authorities could come to the house and see that how he lives is the sign of a mentally ill man who needs desperate help. he has alcohol bottles all over the place empty or half used and used dirty incontinence liners just thrown on the floor. he has an affection for his rubbish far greater then for his kids or wife. he wears smelly old rotten clothes that need burning they are so bad.

he washes quickly and when he feeds the cat or takes washing products or anything to his area he never puts them in the one same area to find them easily. he will rip off cat food tin lids and just throw them anywhere and they stay there for years.

its so embarrassing. I want something to be done. he will not get help for his hoarding addiction of rubbish.

I have been a chronic shop-addict buying things and have so much stuff I can’t get in my bedroom or use my room.

we know we need help but we don’t know how to get it or where to go.
