When I was 15 yrs old I met my first girlfriend which lasted all through high school and into our first year of college. We Lost contact after that and didn’t talk or see each other again for 13 years.
She had recently gotten divorced and I was married at the time we reconnected as friends. Its weird how we think people change but after talking to them for a while you find out they are still the same people just a bit older.
We started to secretly meet up at bars here and there just because I knew nobody would understand this friendship. It was really fun to talk and spend time with someone you knew so well growing up. Anyway, we lost contact yet again and its been 5 years or so since we last spoke and through other friends I found out she has since remarried and Im really happy for her. Everyone says he’s a great guy and make a great couple.
I guess Im posting this because part of me wishes we still kept in contact but on the other hand I can see how it would be perceived as wrong as often people do. Im married but I do think of her often (friendly way) and the reason Im on here.
Amy, if youre out there… I hope you have a wonderful life and hope nothing but the best for you. Thank you for being an amazing part of my teenage/adult years. 🙂
