If you majored in chemistry in college you are probably broke as hell. Man Why TF do they put you through pure academic hell in school when the degree barely gets you more than a school teachers salary. A little advice though for others like me, put the knowledge to use, I haven’t bought produce from a grocery store in 4 yrs after setting up an aquaponics system in my shed and I produce my own biodiesel for fuel. If I was really smart I would have majored in chemical engineering, but oh well I made several side hustles for myself. Bottom line, don’t major in chemistry unless you want to be forced into self sufficiency.

  • No, you should have went to school to become a pharmacist. You’d easily make over $100,000 a year. You’d still be working with chemicals.

  • Sounds like you’re doing fine to me; thought might I say, the grass is not always greener on the other side. I worked as a chemical engineer for 8 yrs before I realized I absolutely hated my job and questioned why I put myself through hell memorizing endless, useless math equations and chemical formulas. I went back to school and am now a Nurse, I’ve never been happier and the hours are great! Like I said before, seems like you’re doing alright, just stick with what you are doing I’m sure you’re happier than I was.

  • My Chemistry teacher in high school got paid such shit that even into her late thirties she was still in college trying to earn higher degrees with the hopes of increasing her pay, while putting herself in obvious debt from the online university she was apart of. The woman is a genius and knows the answers to just about every question I’ve ever asked her and passed every exam she took with flying colors, but was having to put herself through all of this extra stress so she could live off of a much more abundant salary.
