What should I do?
I just inherited a lot of money from a family member who recently died and my dad just keeps asking me money, for things he paid in the past, for example clothes or “presents” he bought for me. I really feel bad that I have to pay everything back that he bought in the past but every time I say something he gets mad and says I am spoiled, dramatic and I don’t have anything to complain. But you see, the money I got is supposed to be for college and I feel like he is making me pay for things that I thought were pressents. He keeps asking and we keep fighting and I don’t know if I should just give him the money or not, I don’t want to keep fighting because before I inherited the money my relationships with my dad was getting better and now it feels like it’s getting worse and worse. So what should I do? I don’t want to keep spending this money because it’s for college, and I already have a student job to earn money. But I was supposed to go travelling and we already bought the plane tickets and now he is making me pay them and I feel this is going to go on and on, and I still have 1 year before I can move out. WHAT SHOUL I DO?

  • Sounds like this is personal. But there are also terms of the inheritance that are in the will. I would probably contact the lawyer and have him tell you what to do. You might be able to put the money in a trust or something where you can’t touch it except for certain reasons. Talk to the lawyer about what you can do to prevent it from being spent by someone it wasnt’ meant for. Sorry you’re going through this.
