There used to be a mouthwash called Plax. I haven’t had those in years, but the first time I ever saw one and realized what it was was after gargling with Plax which I think was meant to obviously prevent or remove plaque. This was a long time ago. 20 years.
I haven’t had one of those pop out in many years and that might be due to the types of toothpaste I use and the fact that I brush my tongue every day and I mean my whole tongue. I gag and have puked but that might prevent them. Every day. I haven’t always brushed my tongue, back then, I didnt, but that is where bad breath originates.

I pinched out a loaf this afternoon. It wasn’t very gross because it didn’t have much smell. Thank goodness.
