With all the hate speech against Asians recently, maybe I shouldn’t be saying this. But I honestly resent my family for being Asian. The stereotype that “Asian parents are drill sergeants and only accept perfect scores on exams and homework” is 100% true, and I’ve been conditioned from birth to think this way. Now my dipshit parents are desperately trying to get me to stop cussing myself out and banging my head against the wall whenever even the possibility of a low grade comes up. The only consolation is knowing that they’re fully aware how this is their fault.
