I don’t care if you’re religious or not, you should be a good person for the sake of being a good person, not for fear of karma or some god. Don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t steal, don’t hurt innocent people. Be a good person in spite of all the bad in the world.

Cause and effect needs to exist. Something isn’t the way it is because of its own sake.
Maybe with nature but people have free will. I don’t care how shitty your life is or what you believe in, anyone with a brain knows doing bad things is never going to make anything better for them and anyone can do good because they know it might make life for them or someone else more bearable
